广西永福县是正宗的罗汉果发源地和主产地，今已有200多年的种植历史和一套完整成熟的种植加工技术。现全县罗汉果种植面积达35000多亩，年产果近2亿个，其中70%以上罗汉果都集中在该县龙江乡境内。1995年永福县被农业部命名为“中国罗汉果之乡”；2000年被桂林市认定为1 号农产品，在2001年中国国际农业博览会上永福罗汉果被授予产品称号。永福罗汉果原果及其制品已远销日本、美国、新加坡等二十多个和地区。
